+ a couple of hours turned to weeks, months and soon, years! and i've heard someone said that in a marriage, it's not only the first five years when a couple shall face all sorts of challenges and obstacles, it will be a lifetime! in short, a marriage is like a journey. so the best thing that a married couple should do is, sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride! hehehe LOL

+ i'm back.. but not so running ... +
+ after more than a week 'down', alhamdulillah today i'm back in the office. for those who might have tried to reach me, i am so sorry but i had no choice to switched off terus my handphone. i guess last week the only mode of communication i had was through effa's handphone.

+ bertunang dan kunang-kunang +
+ if you have the time, bring your family or friends to kuala selangor and make sure you arrive there at night or when the sun already sets. i'd like to think the 'river's residents' are still alive and 'burning' as that is the main reason why you should spend a good 1 hour or so depending from where you're coming to travel all the way to a place called kg kuantan. of course you will be enjoying at what else but the wonderful view of fireflies or in malay 'kunang-kunang', in their natural habitat, which is being threatened by development. the 'ooohs' and 'aaahs' will really delight you, no matter how old you are.
i always dream that effect could be conjured by our albums. the same delightful feeling. the fascination in reminiscing the day when it all happens via beautiful peeks captured by us. bringing tears to the eyes would be a bonus but be careful! excessive tears when looking at an album might give a different idea! ( e.g. tak suka the layout ke,.. irrelevant pictures ke..LOL ). but nevertheless, the delight and fascination feeling is what we always strived for.
many people assume engagement should not be spent on photography much. er.. does RM1000++ for a photographer with a beautiful album, slideshow DVDs and all photos in a couple of DVDs too expensive? many people reason that they should hire us only for the real day, akad nikah & reception, no need for engagement. i understand perhaps the reason is about budget. but isn't it the beautiful journey starts from the day the 'next level' of relationship was taken? after a few months or years of courting and being together, this is a big step towards the ultimate step! LOL... and NO photographer? hehehe
i wonder if there is anyone would say " alaah, guests masa bertunang tipah nanti makan biskut cukup lah, nanti nasik makan masa nikah dengan kenduri nanti... "
but then again, i truly understand on the other factors apart from budget, i.e. less decoration hence no need for a photographer, a very simple event, again, not worthy for a dedicated photographer and so on. it differs from one person to another. but if the reason, or YOUR reason is reason #1, which budget, do you know that many photographers offer zero-interest installments? and on top of that, it is really not that expensive for them to cover a simple event like an engagement?
but again, 'slap your chest, ask your appetite'. hehehe... if i am being asked whether its important to have a photographer on your bertunang day, i would say..
" Sorry Ma, dulu i bawak kamera Minolta Dimage and mintak abang Lan aje yang shoot! isk! isk! uwaaa!!! "

+ slideshows.. at a hall near you! :-P +
+ this weekend we quite have a handful of slideshows to be done and shown during receptions. yikes! as simple as it may seemed, it is not that easy really. with the photo selection, editing, arranging them into a story line, rendering to movie mode and so on, phew! having to do just one or two is daunting enough! inikan pulak lima! hehehe..
but alhamdulillah that will also translates that the audience for our work this weekend will be in the region of 3000 people or more ( 5 halls x 600 pax ; itupun kalau semua pay attention to the slide presentation and not on their desert! hahaha ).
ok, still have more slideshows to be done! back to work now. have a nice weekend everyone! :-)
ps: below was one of my favourite slideshows. hehehe... (re)enjoy! LOL
nota kaki : with all due respect, comments to my blog which have no identities or proper links to the author's blog or website or email shall not be published. apologies and thank you. however, your comments are still being taken into my account, thanks nevertheless. if your niat is good, God bless you. if not, then.. wallahualam.

+ pre weds... +
+ teringat minggu lepas masa berjumpa dengan seorang client ni & ibu dia. the mother was looking at some of our pre wedding photos and she said : " wah.. dah macam style orang Cina ya melayu kita ambik gambar sekarang ... "
heheh.. that made me thinking, what is pre-wedding's purpose actually? is it a mere waste of money? is it just a way to show off, to say that "hey, see.. i can afford pre wedding ok!" ... or is it just an imitation of others' culture? what does it serves actually?
hurmm.. what do you think?
i am in no position to say what is right, or what is wrong. what is not a wasteful of money, and what is good for you. but what i know, i can look at it from my personal view as a wedding photographer. and yours can always be different than mine. keh keh keh...
i think pre weddings are great not just because they bring in some cash flow to the business ( hahaha ) but they are great on its own. heheh.. spending quality time with your loved ones to be photographed at some of the beautiful places ( eventhough some are not, it will turn out beautiful at the end of the day thanks to photoshop! hehehe ), you will be able to get some candid shots that will reveal the natural you and your better half, not just the normal 'smiling' shots you will get during the actual event. apart from that, you could never get a beautiful photo of the two of you yourself, posing at various locations, isn't it? ( unless you're a photographer armed with a tripod.. kekek )
apart from that, it is a great way to release the stress off the actual day. usually the trend now is pengantins will ask for post-weddings or more known now as 'outdoor' shoot after the akad nikah or reception. then there will be brides or grooms' parents giving deadlines " jangan lama-lama sangat, ramai sedara mara nak jumpa ni! " and ayat-ayat yang sebegitulah. then the race against the time is ON. can you imagine the stress not to mention the quality out of the shoot? hehehe.. of course, you save on the cost for baju & makeup ( also photography! heheh ), but how about natural expressions, freedom of locations or relaxations that will bring out the best pre-wedding photos?
last but not least, it is a very good way for you to connect with your photographer, prior to the big day. kalau photographer that you booked tu nampak je garang, mana lah tahu masa pre-wed, he can be so funny! it helps on the actual day when the trust is already there. you turst your photographer, your photographer knows your best angle, likes and dislikes, stuffs like that. the result of this photographer-customer bond? of course lah pics-pics yang meletoppp dan vogue vedevasss bak kata makeup-makeup artist sekarang. ( another interesting topic, next time! hehehe )
so what do you think?
