+ photographs last longer ;-) +
+ you never know how fond you can be photographing kids until you have one your own. ;-) . before the existence of Min Jr. I, my focus was always weddings and occasionally perhaps a little bit of this and that on other things. it never crossed my mind to capture these 'little humans', let alone know how fun it is to shoot kids doing what they do best -- play! capturing something naturally is always interesting, because faking something feels always, well, fake ;-P . i guess that's why in weddings, i always preferred to do things naturally, although some had to be composed or directed. hehehe..
then arrives A.Z.MIN I ( or Azril Zafri Nor Azmin... get it? A.Z.MIN ? hehehee ), and the new papa could not leave the camera quite away from the little guy! hahaha! suddenly the shutter count of my nikon increased many many folds! wooh! it was as if i would like to freeze him in time, not allowing him to grow up. well, i can't do it real life, so it's good enough i still could do it with photographs.
and today, when me & mrs min have the time, we will scroll through Yel's peeks in my computer or flip through his piles of photo albums. yeps. piles. albums. lucky them kan? unlike their parents' generation or grandparents', whom perhaps having one album full of these kind of photos is considered lucky enough. heheh..
and this 'fondness' too is one of the motivating factors for me to start cikimiki and continue offering photography services involving kids and family. it's not easy photographing kids but some young parents took us lightly. they thought it was easy to photograph kids. they thought they could just save the cost of hiring professional photographers by buying a camera themselves, and snap away. no doubt it's good if the parent could afford one, as they could capture every little moment of their little ones, but when it comes to special occasions or events, it's wiser to contract out this department to people who knows best.
and it's not just cikimiki, there's a bunch of kids photography houses out there, all ready to provide you with their expertise. what left for you to do is to find one that suits you and of course, available for your event ;-) so the next time you plan for a birthday party or any other events for your little ones and have some spare cash to splash, please think again if you have planned for excessive decorations or expensive party favors. for a change, consider a proper designated photographer for your kid's special day.
after all, photographs last longer, isn't it? :-)
cheers,
min
